Odds Formats at Squeen — Choose What Works Best for You

Squeen supports three popular odds formats. Switch to whichever suits your preference.

Decimal Odds (European)

The most popular format in Malaysia and worldwide. The number shown represents your total return, including your original stake.

Winnings = Stake × Odds
Example: RM100 × 2.50 = RM250

Net profit = RM150

Malay Odds

The odds format commonly used across Southeast Asian markets. A positive value represents profit, while a negative value indicates the amount you need to stake to win RM1.

Odds +0.85: Win RM85 per RM100
Odds -1.20: Stake RM120 to win RM100

Commonly used in Malaysia & Singapore

Hong Kong (HK) Odds

Similar to positive Malay odds. Shows the net profit you would receive for every unit staked, excluding your original stake.

HK Odds 1.50: Win RM150 per RM100 staked
Total payout = RM250 (stake + profit)

Popular in Hong Kong & China

Understanding Match Odds and How to Maximise Your Betting Value at Squeen

Match odds are the foundation of every Sports Betting decision you make. They're more than just numbers — they reflect the probability of a given outcome, and most importantly, they determine how much you stand to win if your call is right. At Squeen, we believe every player deserves a clear understanding of odds before placing any bet.

One of the first things you need to understand is the concept of odds value or value betting. This means you are not just looking for high odds, but for matches where the odds offered by Squeen are better than the actual probability you believe to be true. For example, if you are confident that Johor DT has a 60% chance of winning, but the odds offered reflect only a 50% probability, that is a value opportunity worth taking.

Key Odds Markets Offered by Squeen

The Squeen platform offers a wide range of odds markets for every match. Here are the most common and popular markets among Malaysian players:

  • 1X2 (Match Winner) — The most basic and straightforward market. Pick either the home team to win (1), a draw (X), or the away team to win (2).
  • Asian Handicap — A market that eliminates the draw result. One team is given a handicap advantage to level the playing field. Particularly popular for lopsided matches.
  • Over/Under (Total Goals) — You don't need to pick a winner — simply predict whether the total goals scored will be over or under the set line (e.g., O/U 2.5 goals).
  • European Handicap — Unlike Asian Handicap, this market still includes the draw as a third outcome.
  • Odd/Even — Predict whether the total goals scored in the match will be an odd or even number.
  • Correct Score — Higher odds for predicting the exact final score — a high-risk, high-reward option.

How Does Squeen Determine Match Odds?

Many players wonder how odds are determined. At Squeen, our sports analysis team considers multiple factors before setting the opening odds for each match. These include the head-to-head record between both teams, recent form over the last five matches, the presence or absence of key players due to injury or suspension, home and away advantage, and global market analysis from international betting exchanges.

Once the opening odds are set, they are continuously updated based on live betting activity. If the majority of players back one outcome, its odds will drop slightly to balance the risk, while the odds for other outcomes will rise. This process happens automatically within Squeen's system, which is why you may notice up or down arrows next to the odds figures in the table above.

For live (in-play) matches, odds are updated every few seconds in line with real-time developments on the pitch. After a goal is scored, a red card is issued, or a key player is injured during the match, Squeen's system will immediately adjust the odds to reflect the latest situation.

Tips on Reading and Using Squeen Odds Wisely

Before placing any bets based on the odds displayed, here are some practical tips to help you make smarter decisions:

First, compare odds for the same match across different markets. Sometimes Asian Handicap odds may offer better value than 1X2 odds for the same match, depending on how large the quality gap is between the two teams.

Second, don't fixate solely on high odds. Odds like 10.00 or 15.00 may look tempting, but they also signal a very low probability of occurring. Players who win consistently on Squeen typically target odds in the 1.80 to 3.00 range, which offers a solid balance between value and probability.

Third, set a fixed betting budget and stick to it regardless of how tempting the odds may look. At Squeen, you can use the betting limit feature in your account settings to automatically keep your spending in check.

FAQ — Squeen Match Odds

Everything you need to know about odds on the Squeen platform

Odds can change before a match for several reasons: betting activity from other players prompting the system to rebalance the market, breaking news such as player injuries or lineup changes, and odds movements from international markets. Squeen continuously updates its odds to ensure they reflect the best and most current value. If you have already confirmed your bet, the odds accepted at that point will not change.

Asian Handicap offers only two outcomes (no draw) — your stake is fully refunded if the match ends exactly on the handicap line. For example, if the handicap is -0.5 for the home team and the match ends in a draw, the home bet loses while the away bet wins. European Handicap retains three outcomes (including a handicap draw) and there is no stake refund scenario. Asian Handicap is more popular in Malaysia due to its lower risk exposure.

You can easily switch odds formats on the Squeen platform. Once logged in, go to your profile settings and select the "Odds Settings" section. Choose between Decimal, Malay, or Hong Kong format. The change takes effect immediately across all odds displays on the platform. You can also switch formats temporarily directly on the odds page using the format toggle available there.

If a match is officially postponed and does not resume within 12 hours of the scheduled kick-off, all bets on that match will be voided and your stake will be fully refunded to your Squeen account. If the match is postponed but resumes later on the same day, bets will generally remain valid. For parlay bets, any cancelled match will be removed from the ticket and the odds adjusted according to the remaining number of matches.
